Somewhere between the last record and the first light, there is a room full of strangers who are no longer strangers. This is where the work happens.

I have spent twenty years chasing one feeling — the moment a voice lifts off the low end and the whole room exhales at once. I have chased it through indie clubs and platinum anthems, through “Benediction” and “Infinity,” through a song called “Confusion” that travelled further than any of us imagined. The names on the records change. The feeling does not.

My sound is cosmic and psychedelic, soulful and strange — a hooded figure on a starfield, a spiral where the face should be, because the point was never the face. The point was the voice, and what the voice does to a room. The point was the place we go together when the lights go down and the bass comes up. A place older than the genre. A place that has always been about devotion.

I was given a name that turned out to be a thesis. Love. My first label was called it. My first album reached for it. I have been writing the same word in different keys my whole life, and I have learned the one thing it keeps proving:

Not as a slogan. As a result. It wins in the room where two thousand people sing a line they’ve never heard. It wins in the orchestra swelling under a house record at the O2. It wins in the golden note that hangs in the dark a half-second longer than it should.

So this is the invitation, and it is the whole brand in two words. Bring it to the floor. Bring it to the record. Bring it to the stranger beside you who is about to become a congregation of one. And we’ll do what we’ve always done with it — we’ll make it win.
